Methodology
1. Your score
Enter your score, or the number of correct and incorrect answers. Answer counts are converted with the marking scheme verified for that session: correct × marks per correct − incorrect × deduction + unanswered × marks per unanswered. Fractions are kept exact (for example −1/3), so there is no rounding drift.
2. Published reference points
We use only score-to-rank pairs published in official documents for the same session. They are never generated, smoothed or taken from other websites.
3. The estimate
If your score equals a published point, that rank is shown. If it falls between two points, the rank is interpolated in a straight line between them, and the range is those two published ranks. A higher score can never rank worse, so the actual rank in that session lies within it.
4. When we do not estimate
- fewer than 3 reference points are published for the session;
- it is not verified whether ranks are based on raw marks, percentile or a normalised score;
- the published points either side of your score are more than 15% of the maximum score apart;
- your score is outside the published range (then only an upper or lower limit is shown).
5. Deterministic and private
The calculation is a fixed formula that runs in your browser. It uses no AI and no external service, and your score is never sent to a server. The same inputs always give the same result.
